MIKE FINNIGAN, TOMMY BOLIN, STANLEY SHELDON & FRIENDS ‘TEND TO YOUR OWN BUSINESS’ 1974
A rehearsal at Ebbets Field 1974. Tommy & Stan were keen to get Finnigan in a band and despite showing potential, it never came to fruition. The song is preceded by what was listed as ‘Lotus’, but, despite a similarity, it's more than likely just jamming to ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ which had been recently released & of which Tommy was a fan.

DEEP PURPLE |  ‘HOMEWARD STRUT’ MARYLAND 1976

TOMMY BOLIN ‘THE NEW YORK FUSION JAMS’ 1971
A snippet of Tommy Bolin jamming with various musicians in New York 1971. Definitely Jeremy Steig on flute (2nd jam), and POSSIBLY Don Alias on drums & Gene Perla on bass – though, not certain.Tommy was also jamming with the likes of Billy Cobham and Jan Hammer around this period (hence Cobham using Tommy for the ‘Spectrum’ LP 2 years later).

CARMINE APPICE ON TOMMY BOLIN
Sad, poignant... & true

JAMES GANG ‘STRATUS SOLO’
1974
James Gang 1974 | Tommy Bolin | “Stratus : Guitar Solo | Boulder, ColoradoThe video does NOT match audio... LOVE that cool throwaway of his slide at 4.37 seconds lol. ENJOY...

ZEPHYR ‘SURF STRUT’ 1970
Bobby Berge on drums. Recorded in the vacant 2nd story office space on Pearl Street. Audio recorded by Wyndham Hannaway on a Nagra field recorder during summer 1970 as we prepared material for our second album. A spontaneous jam, one of many we recorded as we tried different approaches to creating music for the record.  Sounds to me as though Tommy instigated it. (David Givens Oct 2017)

ENERGY. ABELINE, KANSAS 1972
Bobby Berge originally posted the video. For the purposes of this usage I edited Bobby’s drum solo out – I meant NO DISRESPECT by that as he’s on top form, but that can be seen if you see his original version. I loved the bluesy feel of Jeff’s vocals here.Tommy Bolin (gtr), Stanley Sheldon (bass), Jeff Cook (vocals), Bobby Berge (drums) & Tommy Stephenson (keyboards)

JAKE E LEE ON TOMMY BOLIN
Jake E Lee with Eddie Trunk speaking of his admiration of Tommy Bolin, in particular his guitar playing on Billy Cobham’s ‘Spectrum’.

TIM GOODMAN ‘TO BE FREE’ 1973 DEMO
Tim Goodman featuring Tommy Bolin, Stanley Sheldon & Bobby Berge, Nov 1973. Excuse the very poor sound quality.

ZEPHYR ‘SANTA MONICA’ 1971
Despite the poor audio/visual content and bad sync, this remains as a powerful document of LIVE Zephyr. It was Tommy and Bobby's last gig with the band (until the 1973 reunion at the “Art's Bar and Grill’ gig). Also renowned for the fact that both David and Tommy's guitars were stolen the NEXT day!

JAMES GANG “WILD FIRE” (MIAMI OUTTAKE EXCERPT
Audio and visual not matched. The video is from Don Kirshner & an interview with Bob Harris. We edited out the first part of this as was more or less an instrumental backing run, so decided to come in at the end with Bolin’s outtro solo.

DEEP PURPLE, AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND 1975 Part 1
