We have a lot of work-in- progress material in progress, some very rare early Zephyr live video, but it takes a while trying to get it to a presentable quality, so please be patient... It IS happening!

‘St James Infirmary’ – Zephyr

The band performing live on the Barry Richards Show, 1969. David Givens, Candy Givens, Tommy Bolin, John Faris & Robbie Chamberlin

‘Fillmore East Gig/Teaser’ – Zephyr

A teaser for the entire Zephyr concert, recorded 27 Feb, 1970 Kilmore East.Featuring Tommy Bolin, Candy Givens, David Givens, John Faris & Robbie Chamberlin. This WILL be released sometime in (hopefully) the near future

Sweet Lunacy – A Brief History of Boulder Rock

An abbreviated clip featuring purely the ZEPHYR segment from this documentary. Mainly featuring Jock Bartley talking of Tommy Bolin’s first days with the band. Jock went on to replace Tommy and played on the band's 3rd album, ‘Sunset Ride’

‘Bolin Surf Strut’ – Zephyr

A spontaneous jam, one of many we recorded as we tried different approaches to creating music for the record. Greg Hampton gave it the name when he selected it for a bonus track to be included in the remastered ‘GOING BACK TO COLORADO’ project. Sounds to me as though Tommy instigated it. (David Givens, Oct 2017)

‘Sunset Ride’ – Zephyr

From the album ‘Sunset Ride’ recorded 1971and released in 1972. This is the new remastered audio by David Givens, 2021 for the 50th anniversary of the album. The band is Candy Givens (vocals), David Givens (bass), Jock Bartley (guitar), Michael Wooten (drums) John Alphonso (percussion) & Danny Smyth (keyboards).

‘Heartbeat / Don't Come Back’ – Zephyr

The video, which won a Silver Medal at the New York Film and Television and Billboards Video Music awards was one of the earliest examples of computer animation blue screened with live action and the first to be aired on VH1. The videos were created, storyboarded and directed by Charles Sleichter in collaboration with Zephyr.

‘1969 Promo’ – Promo

Promo for ‘Bathtub’ album 1969 - On the beach near Malibu and in the nightclub, ‘The Experience’, in Hollywood. This has been tweaked using Adobe Premiere. Featuring Tommy Bolin, Candy Givens, David Givens, John Faris & Robbie Chamberlin.

‘Santa Monica Civic Auditorium’ – Zephyr

Santa Monica Civic Auditorium 1971.  Candy Givens, David Givens, John Faris.  Last show with Tommy Bolin and Bobby Berge until the summer of 1973. Poor quality, but (I think) worth in inclusion.

‘Going Back To Colorado’ Promo Vid (Part 1) – Zephyr

I did a series of short videos to promote ‘Going Back to Colorado - Leaving Colorado’ in June 2016. I was working closely with David Givens and Greg Hampton, and was privy to hearing much of this material for the first time. I remember, at the time, being blown away with the unreleased material and what Greg had done with the sound – it was an exciting time! DS

‘Texas/Colorado Live Footage’ – Zephyr

Live at the Texas Pop Festival and Denver’s Mammoth Gardens Circa 1970.  No audio exists of these rare performances, so an audio dub from their first self titled Lp has been added! We may have unearthed some additional, better quality material from this... WATCH THIS SPACE!

‘Going Back To Colorado’ Promo Vid (Part 3) – Zephyr

I did a series of short videos to promote ‘Going Back to Colorado - Leaving Colorado’ in June 2016. I was working closely with David Givens and Greg Hampton, and was privy to hearing much of this material for the first time. I remember, at the time, being blown away with the unreleased material and what Greg had done with the sound - it was an exciting time! DS

‘Live Mammoth Gardens 8/14/1970’ – Zephyr

Poor quality sound, but very rare hence the inclusion. I have wrongfully said in the video that it was Montana Gardens when in fact it's Mammoth Gardens. We may have unearthed some actual new footage from the gig but with no audio... WATCH THIS SPACE!

‘1969 Promo’ (Student Project)

Note: Not sure who the author/designer is on this one, but really interesting all the same. “The first of the rotoscope film projects created with my U-Arts “Animation II” classes. This one made in 2004, was created on the Oxberry animation stand from a 16mm print of a music video produced by “Record on Film”, a company started by my father circa 1968. The band is “Zephyr” featuring Tommy Bolin on guitar and Candy Givens on vocals”.
